Multi-view interferometric out-of-focus imaging for ice particle characterization

Abstract

A multi-view interferometric particle imaging setup (IPI) is developed and allows the characterization of droplets of liquid water and / or irregular ice particles. The study of these particles highlights first the "signature" of droplets of liquid water during icing. In a second part, using two different angles of views, we perform reconstructions to obtain a 3D description of the rough ice particles, and to estimate the volume of the particles and the possible error rate.
