Flavonoids from Bupleurum montanum Coss. (Apiaceae)
Abstract
In continuation of our studies on Algerian Apiaceous plants [1] we report here a phytochemical study of aerial parts of Bupleurum montanum, an Algerian endemic species [2], collected from Megress Mountain (Eastern Algeria) at 1500m above sea level, during June 2006. Quercitin 1 [3] and tamarixetin 2 [4] were isolated from the ethylacetate extract. Isorhamnetin-3-rutinoside 3 [5], originally isolated from the flowers of Narcissus tazetta [6], and kaempferol-3-rutinoside 4 [4] were obtained from the n-butanol extract. The structural elucidation was performed mainly by MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectrum data.
