Rhodium-Catalyzed Hydroamination of Ethylene. Highly Promoting Effect of Iodide Ions
Résumé
Association of the usual “RhCl3−3H2O−2PPh3” catalytic precursor (0.3%) with n-Bu4PI (65 equiv/Rh) and iodine (2 equiv/Rh) generates the most active catalytic system reported so far for the hydroamination of ethylene with aniline to give mixtures of N-ethyl- and N,N-diethylanilines. This system proved particularly efficient for the hydroamination of ethylene with N-ethylaniline (TON > 260 after 24 h).
