3D CFD Modeling and Simulation of Adsorption Columns

Résumé

This study develops a three-dimentional CFD model in OpenFoam’s. The model simulates adsorption using a macroscopic approach, where the adsorbent is treated as a continuous medium. The model is validated by comparing numerical results with experimental data from the literature. Validation involves aligning initial and boundary conditions with experiments and analyzing parallel computation, mesh sensitivity, and Grid Convergence Index. After the validation phase, this research focuses on optimizing adsorption column geometry, aiming to improve efficiency and safety where experiments are expensive and difficult to realize.
