Mössbauer study of FeHoB amorphous ribbons
Résumé
Melt-spun Fe80−xHoxB20 (x ≤ 16 at%) ribbons were studied by Mössbauer spectrometry in the temperature range 4–300 K. The average isomer shift and hyperfine field decrease linearly with rare-earth concentration. In Fe64Ho16B20, at 4.2 K, under an applied field of 1 T, a rotation of iron spins towards the field direction is observed, suggesting a higher exchange/anisotropy ratio than in an Er-based alloy, where no rotation was observed up to 8 T.
