Coherent wideband method for directions-of-arrival estimation in the presence of unknown correlated noise
Abstract
In this study, we develop a robust method to improve the accuracy of the estimation of the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of wideband sources in the presence of noise with an unknown spectral matrix. It is well known that when the noise spectral matrix is unknown, those estimates may be grossly inaccurate. Our approach relies on noise subspace methods using the propagator operator. Finally, fast transformation matrices are presented which lead to the construction of a coherent signal subspace. The simulation results concerning the performance of the developed method are presented.
