index - Epidémiosurveillance de protozooses à transmission alimentaire et vectorielle

Bienvenue sur la collection du laboratoire Escape EA7510

Works of EA 7510 research unit are aimed to study epidemiology of cryptosporidiosis, pathogenicity and treatment of Cryptosporidium and other waterborne protozoa (Giardia and Acanthamoeba). For this, in the laboratory have been developed various in vitro and animal models. In association with the French network for cryptosporidiosis "Crypto Anofel", coordinated by L. Favennec, in a "One health" perspective, EA3800 investigates the molecular epidemiology of animal and human cryptosporidiosis, evaluating different epidemiological and pathological genetic markers. Moreover, we study cellular and molecular pathways involved in diarrhea triggered by Cryptosporidium. In the field of innovative antiprotozoal therapy, we investigate the activity and mechanisms of action of new thiazolides on Cryptosporidium - host cell interactions and the activity of PHMB and azoles on the treatment of Acanthamoeba keratitis.
